GFS Advisory Note on Home Office Guidance
The Government has announced a new range of measures designed to enhance security around cargo flights to and from the UK in the wake of the detection of bombs on two flights in the last week.
The principal impact on cargo shipments will be the prohibition on the movement of printer ink cartridges larger than 500g (17.6oz) unless they originate from a regular shipper with security arrangements approved by the Department for Transport.
Further details of the package of measures set out by the Home Secretary, Theresa May, can be found on the Home Office website.
If any additional requirements are put in place, you can rely on GFS to update you and help you understand what they might be mean for any shipments you might wish to make via any of our carrier partners.
Date added 2nd November 2010.
