GFS signs new carrier partner City Link
Global Freight Solutions (GFS) has announced that it has added one of the UK’s leading premium express delivery companies to its roster of carrier partners.
City Link becomes the latest major carrier to join forces with GFS as it seeks to further evolve the range of delivery options offered to its clients.
GFS, which is the country’s top parcel and carrier manager, handles several million items each year for customers in the financial services, technology, baby products, leisure and automotive industries.
GFS Managing Director Neil Cotty said the agreement represented another major step forward in his company’s efforts to deliver the best possible service.
"We are constantly looking for partners who can help us literally deliver on our promises to clients. City Link’s undoubted strength in providing quality delivery services makes it a natural ally for ourselves. The fact that City Link also has the sort of strong reputation for technology which has underpinned our growth is another reason why we believe they will help us round out our offer to our clients.”
The City Link partnership is the latest in a series of developments planned by GFS this year as it moves towards the completion of its first decade in business. The company became the first UK firm to offer customers the chance to move goods via a number of different couriers when it started trading in 2001.
Duncan Faithfull, Sales & Marketing Director, City Link commented: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with GFS. Not only do they share a similar ethos to ourselves in terms of delivering exceptional levels of customer service but their key target markets very much mirror ours. We very much look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with GFS over the coming months.”
City Link, which is part of Rentokil Initial plc, operates more than 2,500 vehicles from a national network of corporately-owned depots. Since being founded in 1969, it has become renowned for the quality of its deliveries, including a broad range of premium timed services.
